Niklas Lofgren is a criminal defense and DUI attorney who has spent over a decade fighting for clients across Cook, DuPage, Will, Lake, and McHenry Counties. Born and raised in the Chicago suburbs, Nik has a deep understanding of the local courts, judges, and prosecutors — and he uses that knowledge every day to protect his clients' rights and futures.

Nik earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa in 2012 and his law degree from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 2015. Before entering private practice, he gained rare insight into the legal system by working on both sides of the courtroom — first as a law clerk in the State's Attorney's Office, where he prosecuted cases, and then in the Public Defender's Office, where he defended them. That dual perspective gives Nik an edge most defense attorneys simply don't have: he knows how prosecutors think, how they build cases, and where they're vulnerable.

Since founding Lofgren Legal, Nik has handled everything from traffic offenses and misdemeanors to Class X felonies — and everything in between. He has tried cases throughout Illinois, appearing in courtrooms every day across the greater Chicago area. His clients face some of the most stressful moments of their lives, and Nik's approach reflects that: aggressive in the courtroom, accessible outside of it, and honest with clients every step of the way.
